Location

Abbots Cottage is situated in the heart of the vibrant market town of Winchcombe, an ancient Saxon settlement known as the walking capital of the Cotswolds. The town benefits from a variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, and also plays host to many regular events, ranging from open gardens and tea dances to festivals and fundraisers. Winchcombe is surrounded by breathtaking countryside with a vast number of walks and cycle routes on its doorstep to discover. The renowned Cotswold Way long distance walking trail passes through the town and features on many circular walks in the area, including an energetic hike up to Belas Knap, a Neolithic long barrow managed by English Heritage. It is also well placed for exploring the many other picturesque towns and villages of the North Cotswolds such as Cheltenham, Chipping Campden, Broadway and Snowshill, the latter being home to Snowshill Manor and the Lavender Fields, a must see in the summer months.
