Bobby Jo’s is a delightful home away from home which sleeps four guests, in two spacious bedrooms, with two ensuite bathrooms. Built in 2017, this bright and airy property has a number of modern facilities including wireless internet access, two Smart TVs, a well-equipped kitchen and underfloor heating in the main living areas. Fabulous bi-fold doors bathe the living area in natural light, and a variety of artwork adorns the walls, with further personal touches including stained glass windows handmade by the owner. There is a beautiful garden with far-reaching views, and off-street parking is available for up to three cars.
Location
Bobby Jo’s is situated in the peaceful village of Blockley, a picturesque location which benefits from having two popular country pubs, a community owned village shop & café, a children’s playground and a historic Norman church. Blockley Brook flows through the village and once had 12 watermills lining its banks, bringing wealth to the area during the height of the wool industry. One of these mills is owned by the Dare family who created Mill Dene Garden which is now open to the public and features a misty grotto, mill pond and gorgeous flowers in bloom.
Blockley falls within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many rewarding walks and cycle routes available on its doorstep. The Monarch’s Way long distance walking trail passes through the village and can be followed either north to Chipping Campden or up and over the ridge towards Moreton-in-Marsh, skirting the fringes of Batsford Arboretum. Blockley is well-placed for exploring the many charming towns and villages of the North Cotswolds including Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway, all home to a number of independent shops, tempting tearooms, pubs and restaurants. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips.

Accessed via the living room, the delightful enclosed garden is a beautiful spot in which to relax after busy days spent exploring the region. There is a paved patio area with a table and seating for four, and from here, railway sleeper steps lead up to a lush lawn which gently slopes up towards a summerhouse with further seating. From this elevated position there are breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, the perfect setting to unwind.
There is off-street parking for three cars on the driveway, and if required, free on-street parking is available at the bottom of the lane.

Booking and payment
Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own any of the cottages listed on our website. We manage a proportion of cottages within our portfolio and the remaining properties are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for your property manager. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.
For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival.
All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.
Security deposits
Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions).
Occupancy
The maximum occupancy of the property is four guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than four guests at the property.
Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to two additional infants.
Pets
One small dog (no larger than a Cocker Spaniel, unless agreed with the owner) is accepted, at a cost of £20 per booking.
For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain out of bedrooms, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure.
Bed linen and towels
Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
Arrival and departure times
Arrival time is after 5pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.

Mobile phone reception is generally OK.
Parking
The property has a driveway with parking space for three cars.
Housekeeping
Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request.
Child friendly facilities
A travel cot (without linen) and high chair are provided.
Initial consumables
A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay.
Accessibility, health and safety
There is a ramp from the driveway to the front door for those with limited mobility, and the steps up to the main living area are fitted with a handrail.
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
Smoking
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property.

Travelling by car
Blockley is easily accessed by car, being located approximately one mile away from the A44 and approximately three miles away from the A429 (Fosse Way), which are two of the main roads through the North Cotswolds.
Travelling by train
The nearest railway station to Blockley is Moreton-in-Marsh (approximately three miles away), which has regular, direct services to London Paddington, with a typical journey time of approximately 90 minutes.
Travelling by plane
Blockley is within easy reach of a number of international airports:
- Heathrow International Airport: 76 miles, approximately 90 minute drive;
- Birmingham International Airport: 42 miles, approximately 60 minute drive.
