Summary
Crofters Barn is a beautiful Cotswold stone property which sleeps two guests, in one stylish bedroom, with one bathroom. Dating back to the 18th century, this attractive property was originally a threshing barn and boasts charming character features including exposed beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a cosy wood burning stove. These features have been complemented by contemporary décor and modern facilities such as wireless internet access, a Freeview TV and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a delightful tiered garden at the rear, and off-street parking is available for two cars.
Location
Crofters Barn is situated in Nether Westcote, an unspoilt village just five miles from the bustling market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Comprising just a handful of dwellings, this quaint village is proud to be the home of The Feathered Nest, an award-winning country inn which offers fantastic food, fine wines and incredible views of the Evenlode Valley. Located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many walks and cycle routes from the village including footpaths to nearby Kingham and Bledington, both known for their gastropubs.
Although this picturesque village does not have a shop, Nether Westcote is just a short drive away from the much-loved North Cotswold towns and villages of Stow, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water, all home to fine pubs, restaurants, tearooms and boutique shops. Popular tourist attractions in the area include the Lavender Farm and Fields at Snowshill, the Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Batsford Arboretum, The Model Village in Bourton and the Cotswold Brewing Company which runs brewery tours and tasting sessions. Further afield destinations such as Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace, Oxford and Bath are easily accessible for day trips.

The front door of the property is accessed via stone steps which do not have a handrail.
The garden is split over two levels, with a narrow unfenced pond separating the two.
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.

Corporate and commercial bookings
Unfortunately, this property does not accept corporate, work related or commercial bookings of any kind.
Stow Horse Fair
The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates.

In order to provide you with as much detail of our properties as possible, we sometimes use wide angle photography, which can make certain rooms, or spaces, appear larger than they actually are. Wherever possible, we try to include a floorplan, with detailed dimensions of rooms and areas.
