Keble Cottage is a wonderful Grade II listed property which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with two bathrooms. Dating back to the 15th century, the property has a pretty stone frontage and character features inside including an ornamental inglenook fireplace, exposed stone walls and a second fireplace with a wood burning stove. These period features are complemented by contemporary décor and modern facilities which include wireless internet access, a Freeview TV with a DVD player and an Amazon Alexa. The owners of this self-contained cottage live in the adjoining property, Keble House, which was the birthplace and childhood home of John Keble after whom Keble College at Oxford University was named. There is a large enclosed garden and free off-street parking for three cars in the private courtyard at the front of the property.


Keble Cottage is located in the picturesque Cotswold town of Fairford, an ancient market town famed for the parish church of St Mary’s which is known for its 28 stunning stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes. In addition to being home to the only complete set of medieval stained glass in the country, the town has a children’s playground and a variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs to enjoy, as well as beautiful scenery on its doorstep including walks along the banks of the River Coln towards the nearby lakes.

This vibrant town hosts a range of events throughout the year including The Fairford Festival, with live music, fun races and an art exhibition, and the world’s largest military air show, the Royal International Air Tattoo, hosted by the RAF Fairford. Fairford is within easy reach of many lovely Cotswold towns and villages including Cirencester, Burford and Bibury, and there are fantastic tourist attractions and activities close by such as the Cotswold Water Park, Cotswold Wildlife Park and cycle routes along the Thames Path. Further afield destinations such as Bath, Cheltenham and Oxford are also accessible for day trips.

The beautiful enclosed garden is mostly laid to lawn with leafy shrubs around the border and a variety of mature trees casting welcome shade in the warmer months. This tranquil area contains a lovely bistro table with two chairs, a two-seater bench and a charcoal barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining. There is an outhouse within the garden where guests can store bikes, however please note that there is no lock to this storage space.
