Location

Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in the charming village of Bourton-on-the-Water, Lilac House is surrounded by the stunning countryside of the North Cotswolds. This vibrant village is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush which flows peacefully through its centre. Home to a variety of popular pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops, this picturesque destination offers a range of tourist attractions too, including the Model Village, the Cotswold Brewing Company and Birdland Park and Gardens.

The Cotswolds is the UK’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many walking trails and cycle routes to explore including routes from Bourton out to the nearby villages of Naunton, The Slaughters and Cold Aston, all home to well-regarded country pubs. Bourton’s central location makes it a superb base for visiting the many bustling market towns in the area such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Chipping Campden, and further afield destinations including Cirencester, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, home of William Shakespeare, are also easily accessible for day trips.
