Description
Summary
Posting House Barn is a beautiful Grade II* listed Cotswold stone property which sleeps six guests, in three inviting bedrooms, with two stylish bathrooms. Dating back to the 17th century, this charming home away from home has a wealth of character features including exposed Cotswold stone walls, exposed beams and a striking spiral staircase which winds through the property. These features have been complemented by contemporary décor and modern facilities such as wireless internet access, two Freeview TVs and a well-equipped kitchen with underfloor heating. At the rear of the property there is a stunning enclosed garden with comfortable seating, and off-street parking is available for one small car in a garage nearby.
Location
Posting House Barn is located in the centre of the popular market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, just steps away from the Market Square and all that Stow has to offer. This vibrant town is renowned for its range of boutique shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms, as well as the Farmers' Market which takes place every second Thursday of each month, showcasing fantastic local produce. Steeped in history with its medieval cross and old town stocks, the bustling market square is the heart of the community and it is said that during the height of the wool industry, 20,000 sheep were sold here in one day.
As the highest of the Cotswold towns, Stow features on many country walks and cycle routes and rewards visitors with far-reaching rural views. Local footpaths take in the neighbouring villages of Broadwell, Lower Swell and The Oddingtons, all home to popular inns which offer tempting refreshments. Stow is also well-placed for exploring the many towns of the North Cotswolds including Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burford, and further afield destinations such as Cirencester, Blenheim Palace and Oxford are within easy reach for day trips.

Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by one additional infant.
Pets

Accessibility, health and safety
This is an old, Grade II* listed property with many character features including a narrow spiral staircase, low beams and a small step in the kitchen, all of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency.
The smoke and CO detector operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
Smoking
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property.
Other
The garden is regularly maintained by a professional gardening service and this work is generally carried out when the property is vacant. During peak periods, the gardener may need to carry out work whilst the property is occupied, and this work will be completed as quickly as possible and with as little disturbance as possible to guests.
Towards the end of the garden, behind the trellis to the left of the summerhouse, there is a fire escape for the local supermarket and therefore this area cannot be blocked.
Stow Horse Fair
The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates.
Photographs
In order to provide you with as much detail of our properties as possible, we sometimes use wide angle photography, which can make certain rooms, or spaces, appear larger than they actually are. Wherever possible, we try to include a floorplan, with detailed dimensions of rooms and areas.
If you have any queries regarding the size of any rooms or spaces, please do not hesitate to contact us.
