Summary
Station Cottage is a wonderful Grade II listed property which sleeps 4+1 guests, in two smart bedrooms (with the +1 option being a camp bed for a small child in bedroom 2), with a contemporary family bathroom. Dating back to the 17th century, this Cotswold stone cottage has been finished to a high standard with a warm interior and modern facilities including wireless internet access, an electric flame effect fire and a Smart TV with an Xbox. There is an attractive courtyard garden at the front and restricted on-street parking is available close by, with the option of two Pay & Display car parks if necessary.
Location
Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water, Station Cottage is surrounded by the stunning countryside of the North Cotswolds. This vibrant village is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush which flows peacefully through its centre. Home to a variety of popular pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops, this much loved destination offers a range of tourist attractions too, including the iconic Model Village, the Cotswold Brewing Company and Birdland Park and Gardens.
The Cotswolds is the UK’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with many walking trails and cycle routes to explore including routes from Bourton out to the nearby villages of Naunton, The Slaughters and Cold Aston, all home to well-regarded country pubs. Bourton’s central location makes it a superb base for visiting the many bustling market towns in the area, such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Chipping Campden, and further afield destinations including Cirencester, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, home of William Shakespeare, are also easily accessible for day trips.
