Easter in the Cotswolds

Easter in the Cotswolds

Now’s the time to kick-start holiday planning with a trip to the Cotswolds this Easter. It’s less than two hours from London and the glorious honey-coloured villages and rolling Cotswold Hills are brimming with activity at this time of year. Whilst cherry blossom orchards and bluebell woods fill the countryside, country pub menus are packed with delicious seasonal ingredients and there’s lots of Easter activities and egg hunts to enjoy too!

Here’s some of what’s on this Easter in the Cotswolds.

The Big Batsford Bunny Hunt, Batsford Arboretum, Moreton-in-Marsh
Sat 4 April – Sun 19 April 2020

See the cherry blossom at its best this Easter at Batsford Arboretum – home to the UK’s largest private collection of trees. Although this beautiful botanical garden is 55-acres, it is an intimate and romantic experience with a gorgeous collection of Japanese flowering cherry trees as well as magnolias and Easter is the time to see them in all their glory. Take in the lovely spring atmosphere from the Garden Terrace cafe, with outside seating overlooking the Plant Centre. This Easter, families will want to pick up an Easter bunny trail too – there are rabbits hopping all around the garden – find them to win a prize. There’s also storytelling and family forest school activities over the Easter holidays to keep busy rabbits out of mischief.

There’s so much going on to enjoy this Easter at Blenheim you’ll be left ‘egghausted’! Nothing that a refreshment and bite to eat in the Pizza Cafe and wander around the rest of the stunning Blenheim gardens won’t fix.

Cadbury Egg Hunt, Snowshill Manor and Gardens, Broadway
Sat 4 April – Mon 13 April

Take your little bunnies on a hunt to find signs of spring this Easter, at Snowshill Manor and Gardens, just outside Broadway. There are sure to be daffodils in bloom and birds chirruping. Easter Chicklets

Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe

Between 13 April and 22 April, the Easter mayhem heads outside into Sudley Castle’s glorious gardens. For this period, a giant egg trail will lead visitors around the gardens and there’s no better way to take in spring in the Cotswolds.
