    “Stunning cottage in an excellent location within walking distance of Chipping Campden high street.”

    The garden is beautiful and well looked after with the lavender and the apple and pear trees. We were worried about the property not having a driveway but with Hoo Lane just around the corner it was no problem at all. The property is furnished to a high standard and has everything that you would need. One thing that we would have liked was a TV in the master bedroom for our little boy but this is just personal preference. Thank you for a lovely break, we would love to return again one day :-)

The property

Wyncliffe is a detached Cotswold stone cottage which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with a spacious family bathroom. Built in the early 19th century, the property has been furnished in a contemporary style with charming character features to equal some of the older cottages in the area. These features include a stunning inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, exposed Cotswold stone walls and exposed beams. The character of the property is complemented by modern touches from wireless internet access and a Freeview TV, to the well-equipped kitchen which overlooks the attractive enclosed garden. Free on-street parking is readily available close to the cottage. Wyncliffe is tucked away on a peaceful lane in the much loved market town of Chipping Campden, one of the larger towns of the Cotswolds. This vibrant town is popular amongst locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of local inns, independent shops, tea rooms and restaurants to enjoy. The town is also known for its impressive architecture, including the 17th century Market Hall and the East Banqueting House, and for the glorious countryside that surrounds it. There are numerous walking and cycle routes available on its doorstep, including the famous 100 mile long Cotswold Way long distance walking trail and shorter circular walks for leisurely days spent exploring the area. Chipping Campden is well placed for exploring the other beautiful towns and villages of the North Cotswolds, such as Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Snowshill. Popular tourist attractions in the area include the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, The Model Village in Bourton-on-the-Water and Hidcote Gardens, now under ownership of the National Trust. Further afield destinations such as Bath, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, are easily accessible for day trips. Accessed via the pretty garden path bordered by lavender, the stable door opens into the kitchen, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Kitchen: The well presented kitchen has a stunning Cotswold stone feature wall and is well-equipped for home cooking. It contains a double fan assisted oven with six-ring gas hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, slimline dishwasher, bean to cup coffee machine, kettle, cafetière and toaster; Dining/living room: Two steps lead down from the kitchen into the bright and airy living area. This open plan space has exposed wooden beams and wonderful limestone flooring, and overlooks the delightful garden. It contains a wooden dining table with seating for six, a tumble dryer, inglenook fireplace with cosy wood burning stove, two three-seater sofas, two pouffes and a small footstool. There is a Freeview TV and DVD player on rotational stand, a Bluetooth CD radio player and a small selection of books. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: This beautifully presented dual aspect bedroom has original wooden floorboards and offers lovely views of the garden. It contains a king size bed, a freestanding wardrobe and chest of drawers as well as a full length mirror; Bedroom 2: With a step up into the room, this tastefully decorated bedroom contains a double bed, a chest of drawers, hanging rail with two small wicker baskets above and a wall mirror; Family bathroom: This bright and spacious bathroom contains a freestanding bath, walk-in rain shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. The gorgeous private garden is at the front of the property, with a wonderful patio area directly outside the kitchen which houses a garden table with seating for six, plus a stylish chiminea. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn, with fragrant roses and lavender adding splashes of colour and a variety of trees casting welcome shade in the warmer months. A dry-stone wall encloses the garden and alongside this wall runs a dried out culvert. The two foot culvert used to be a stream and whilst no water flows through the channel now, young children should be supervised in the garden at all times. This tranquil area is a lovely spot for al fresco dining, or for simply relaxing in the deck chairs whilst taking in the scents and sights of the garden. There is free on-street parking readily available close to the property.

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.

Note: The property’s garden is enclosed, however there is a two-foot-deep disused culvert running alongside the wall and therefore young children should be supervised outside at all times.

Note: There are some uneven floorboards in the master bedroom and steps between some rooms, both of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility.
