Laurel Tree Cottage is a beautifully presented country retreat nestled peacefully in the village of Guiting Power. Guiting Power remains a traditional Cotswold village, with friendly locals who live and work in the area, creating a lovely sense of community. It benefits from two well-regarded pubs, as well as a bakery which stocks local provisions and a Post Office with a tearoom, serving food throughout the day. With an abundance of local walking and cycling trails, plus places of interest including Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe, The Cotswold Brewing Company and the Dragonfly Maze in Bourton-on-the Water, there are plenty of things to do nearby to keep visitors occupied. The village is also within easy reach of many other market towns and villages of the North Cotswolds and the historic cities of Bath and Oxford are easily accessible for day trips. Hidden from view by the luscious mature trees that surround it, Laurel Tree Cottage is an elegantly furnished property with a wealth of character features, including exposed wooden beams, an ornamental Cotswold stone fireplace in the living room and wooden flooring. Modern facilities including wireless internet access, underfloor heating in the bathrooms and four TVs complement the stunning character features and further enhance this superb holiday home. Laurel Tree Cottage sleeps 9+2 guests, in six bedrooms (with the +2 option being a small double sofa bed in the snug), with two modern bathrooms. A glorious landscaped garden surrounds the property and off-street parking for up to three cars is provided within a designated parking area on the gravel driveway. Laurel Tree Cottage is perfect for a family who are looking for a relaxing break in the heart of the North Cotswolds. Laurel Tree Cottage is a detached property located on a quiet lane. Accessed via the French doors leading into the kitchen, the following rooms are located on the ground floor: Kitchen/dining/sitting room: This beautiful dual aspect room is light and airy and has many wonderful character features including its high vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and country-style décor. This room contains an Aga (see House Rules), an electric oven with two-ring induction hob, a microwave, kettle, toaster, American-style fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and a dishwasher. There is also a large island with two stools. Beyond the kitchen there is a lovely dining and sitting area which contains a large wooden dining table with seating for ten and an L-shaped sofa which seats six. This area contains a wall-mounted Smart TV, a DAB radio, Bluetooth speakers and a selection of board games; Snug: This peaceful room is accessed via a sliding door from the sitting room and is the ideal space to relax and unwind with a book. With exposed wooden beams and garden views, this room contains a small double sofa bed (4ft x 6.3ft), a desk with a stool and a wall mounted Smart TV; Living room: This warm and inviting reception room contains two sofas, two armchairs and a wall-mounted Smart TV; Bedroom 6: This cosy bedroom contains a single bed, a wardrobe and open shelves for additional storage; Utility room: Contains a washing machine, tumble dyer and a butler sink; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A eye-catching room which contains a colonial-style four poster super king size bed, built-in wardrobes, a chest of drawers, a full length mirror, Freeview TV and a comfy chair; Bedroom 2: Overlooking the garden, this attractive bedroom contains a double bed, a built-in wardrobe and an upholstered chair; Bedroom 3: A light and airy room which contains a single bed and a chest of drawers; Bedroom 4: This room contains a single bed, a chest of drawers and a cosy bedroom chair; Family bathroom: A bright and modern bathroom with underfloor heating which contains a freestanding bath, a walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin and a heated towel rail; Shower room: This stylish bathroom has modern touches including underfloor heating, and contains a walk-in shower, twin wash basins and a toilet. Further stairs lead up from the first floor landing to the second floor landing, off which is bedroom 5: Bedroom 5: This tastefully decorated bedroom in the eaves has a high vaulted ceiling and striking exposed beams. This room contains either a super king size bed or two single beds, a freestanding wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The delightful garden is well-maintained and comprises various areas for guests to relax and unwind. Directly outside the kitchen there is a gravel area with a pretty bistro table with seating for four, a peaceful spot for an early morning coffee, enjoying the sights and scents of the surrounding flowers. Behind the kitchen is the main lawn area which gently climbs up to a high hedge, and from here there are fantastic views of the local countryside. The garden has a children’s play area which includes a climbing frame, swings, slide, trampoline and a sandpit. For al fresco dining there is a large outdoor table with seating for eight, a charcoal barbecue and a fire pit. A wooden gate in the hedge leads through to an orchard and wildflower area, home to a variety of fruit trees including plum, pear and cherry. Off-street parking is available for three medium sized cars within the designated parking area on the gravel driveway located at the front of the property. Further on-street parking is available in the village, if required.

With an 18 hole golf course nearby, Sudeley Castle and Gardens within easy reach and both Stow-on-the-Wold and the spa town of Cheltenham within easy driving distance, this delightful location is ideal for those wishing to explore this historic and rural part of England.

Note: For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure. Note: At the owners' request, we ask that guests do not park on the tarmac driveway located just outside the electric gate as this belongs to a neighbouring property. Note: The property’s garden is enclosed, however young children and dogs should be supervised outside at all times. Note: This is a period property and has many character features including some low doorways, multiple floors and steps from the driveway down to the kitchen, all of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility. Note: The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Note: The AGA is lit between October and April, and can be requested for the summer months during the booking process; though please note, in the summer, the kitchen can become quite hot due to heat from the AGA, so guests may prefer to leave the AGA unlit and use the electric oven, two-ring induction hob and microwave as alternatives.
