The property

Millbank Cottage is a beautiful property which sleeps four guests, in two elegantly presented bedrooms, with two bathrooms.

Dating back to the early 19th century, the cottage retains a wealth of character features including an impressive inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, exposed beams and original flagstone flooring.

These period touches are complemented by modern facilities such as wireless internet access, three Smart TVs and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.

There is a delightful enclosed garden at the rear, and free on-street parking is readily available. Millbank Cottage is tucked away on a quiet lane in the picturesque village of Mickleton.

The village benefits from having a number of amenities with a farm shop, post office, butchers, two popular pubs and The Three Ways House Hotel, host of the renowned Pudding Club.

Surrounded by glorious countryside, there are many footpaths and cycle routes on its doorstep including those to neighbouring Ilmington, Ebrington and Chipping Campden, the latter being the starting point of the Cotswold Way long distance walking trail. Mickleton is well-placed for visiting the many lovely towns and villages of the region such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Stratford-upon-Avon, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water.

The Cotswolds is also home to a variety of tourist attractions including Batsford Arboretum, National Trust owned Hidcote Gardens and Snowshill Manor, Sudeley Castle and the Cotswold Distillery.

Further afield destinations such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bath are easily accessible for day trips.

Millbank Cottage is the ideal retreat for a romantic break for two or for a group of friends or family who are seeking a relaxing holiday in the countryside.

Accessed via a paved pathway, the front door opens into an entrance hall, off which are the following rooms: Living room: Boasting original flagstone flooring, exposed beams and exposed Cotswold stone walls, this warm and inviting living area is perfect for relaxing.

Finished with contemporary furnishings, this stunning room contains an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, a three-seater sofa, scalloped chair, footstool and a wall-mounted Smart TV; Study: Overlooking the lane, this room is great for settling down with a good book.

It contains a comfy armchair; Kitchen/utility room: Flooded with natural light, this beautifully styled kitchen is well-equipped for home cooking.

Providing access to the garden, this room contains an electric range cooker with five-ring gas hob, a fridge with an icebox, a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, breakfast bar with four stools, and a wall-mounted Smart TV.

A continuation of the kitchen, the utility room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Concealed behind a door in the living room, stairs lead up to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom with ensuite bathroom: This wonderfully stylish bedroom features exposed stone and contains a king size bed, built-in wardrobe and wall-mounted Smart TV.

The smart ensuite has underfloor heating and contains a walk-in rain shower with separate handheld shower attachment, freestanding bath with handheld shower attachment, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail; Bedroom 2 with ensuite bathroom: Finished to a high standard, this lovely bedroom contains a double bed, built-in wardrobe and dressing shelf with stool.

Also with underfloor heating, this second ensuite contains a walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. French doors in the kitchen lead out into the attractive garden, a tranquil spot to enjoy the summer sun.

The lawn is bordered by beds of fragrant lavender and colourful climbers, and in the rear corner there is an outdoor table with a parasol and seating for four.

Please note that the neighbouring property has a right of access across the patio by the kitchen, although this is rarely used. Free on-street parking is readily available along the lane and throughout the village.

The charming village of Mickleton in Gloucestershire lies on the western edge of the Cotswolds Hills, close to the borders of Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Boasting many attractive black and white buildings, Mickleton offers a good selection of village amenities including a well-stocked shop, farm shops offering a taste of the area and two traditional pubs. Mickleton village is home to the famous Pudding Club at the Three Ways House Hotel, Definitely worth booking ahead for a full on 'Pudding Club experience'. Mickleton lies just south of the infamous Meon Hill, said to have inspired Tolkien's Weathertop from The Lord of the Rings. The small market town of Chipping Campden is close by, boasting an elegant terraced high street dating back to the 14th century. Here you can discover old inns, specialist shops, tea rooms and a splendid 17th century market hall. Also nearby is Shipston-on-Stour with its magnificent 17th century church. Stratford-upon-Avon can be reached within a pleasant drive, and is alive with character with its famous theatre, medieval buildings, cafes, charming riverside walks and boating trips. The magnificent medieval castle at Warwick makes a great day out for all the family, or why not visit the National Trust house at Charlecote Park with its graceful gardens, intriguing maze and deer park? Many unspoilt Cotswold towns and villages are dotted about this wonderful rural area, making Mickleton a superb holiday destination at any time of year.
