“Loved this property.”

It was the perfect place to spend our family Christmas. Lovely quality linen and towels and spotlessly clean, with well equipped kitchen (although single oven may be too small for some Christmas dinners). Great location with good local shops, pubs and restaurants. Many thanks for a lovely time.

“I can’t fault this wonderful cottage.”

The location is perfect, right in the centre of Moreton which has some lovely cafes and restaurants. Straight across the road there’s a hotel with a cocktail bar. The cottage is a high standard with very comfortable beds and powerful showers. I would highly recommend a stay here.

It feels new to the letting market and there are some rough edges that I am sure will be resolved and sorted to give a full 5* experience. Superb location.

“This house is in a very good position for touring some of the many Cotswold attractions without having to travel too far each day.”

It is very well laid out in relation to rooms, bathrooms and facilities and is of a high standard. The household instructions were plentiful and clear, especially relating to the recycling. I found all that very useful. Ruskin House is on the High Street of a busy market town. It is slightly set back but there is some traffic noise even with the double glazing. In the attic room, there is one window which is single glazed ( I think an original window) which while it's quaint, does allow traffic noise to penetrate which I found disturbing, even though I actually live on a busy road so should be used to it! That said we did have a lovely time there.

Ruskin House is a period Cotswold stone cottage tucked away within the old market town of Moreton-in-Marsh. Moreton is a vibrant, bustling market town with an open-air street market which takes place every Tuesday. Surrounded by beautiful countryside walks including The Monarch's Way, the cottage is ideally located for those wanting to make the most of the stunning scenery of the surrounding countryside, Ruskin House is also perfect base for exploring the many lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as the further a field towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. The cottage has been lovingly refurbished retaining many beautiful character features, including oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and two courtyard gardens. Complementing the character of the cottage are modern facilities, including wireless internet access and a beautiful new kitchen. Ruskin House sleeps a maximum of six people in three bedrooms, with a family bathroom and two ensuites plus a lower ground floor utility room. To the rear of the property is off street parking for two cars. The cottage is perfect for a family or group of friend seeking a relaxing break in one of the Cotswold's loveliest villages.

Stow-on-the-Wold 4.5 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 8 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 16 miles; Cheltenham 23 miles; Oxford 31 miles.

The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh lies on the Fosse Way Roman Road in the northern Cotswolds and boasts many elegant 18th century buildings, which are home to traditional inns, serving real ales and home-cooked food, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also boasts it's own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the town, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Less than five miles away is Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham. This town boasts an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, and is famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase.
