“Lovely cottage very clean and great location.”

It would have been nice to have a visitors guide with owners local knowledge, I know you can look on your phone but there is so many great walks from the doorstep of the cottage which would have been useful to have. One bed was very hard and one very soft but the rest of the cottage was very comfortable. Some of the basics (for us) were missing, like coasters, placemats etc, I’m not one for putting cups on anything without a coaster is case any ring marks are left. Overall lovely cottage, clean and great location. Pub staff, as others have said are sooooo friendly. Great pub

“Great cosy cottage in a lovely village.”

Lovely walks around and fantastic comfy, dog friendly pub a few steps away with amazing food. Was welcomed by some tasty goodies which is always a bonus. Only downsides were: walls are quite thin so could hear neighbours who clearly have a mischievous dog so we actually found it quite amusing ;D and a few extra logs would have been nice for time year. No major issues though plenty of lovely towns and villages within Short driving distances with small local shops aswell as bigger supermarkets. Would definitely choose to stay again if heading back down that way

“The property was very clean.”

Lovely fresh bread, jam, butter and milk on arrival was a welcome touch. The bedrooms were large and spacious. The Black Horse pub was a stone's throw away and the staff there were really friendly. The food and company were amazing. The thing that let it down and wasn't good was how cold the house was on arrival. It was a bitterly cold day in January with a check-in time of 5pm yet the heating had been turned down to just 13 degrees. It took ages to warm the house up. It's not like we weren't expected as we'd kept in regular contact by email.

“The cottage is very simple and cosy.”

It had all ypu needed for a few days. The owner Jane is very helpful and welcoming. The village itself is delightful and the pub is friendly and serves good food. The only downside is the parking but the pros of the place well exceed the cons.Cannot wait to return.

“Gleed Cottage is a charming little cottage perfect for a family stay.”

Naunton Village is ideally located 10mins away from Bourton on Water which is very picturesque and has many places to visit with kids. Host was very welcoming and communicated promptly. Cottage itself is very old and my kids loved their big bedroom in the loft! We enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning again!

Located in the quiet, peaceful village of Naunton, a stone throws away from the local pub! Neighbours are very friendly and our host Jane was very helpful and accommodating. The cherry on top of the cake was the fireplace which certainly warmed us up on a cold winter's night. Would highly recommend!

“Gleed Cottage is an absolutely beautiful cottage in the most gorgeous little hamlet.”

We loved popping by to the pub and going for lovely walks, before coming back to a roaring fire. A lovely part of the world and a lovely place to explore it from! Jayne was a fantastic host: really quick to reply to messages and very generous with the firewood, and we had lots of useful info from Character Cottages beforehand. We can’t recommend this lovely place highly enough.

“This is a beautiful, characterful filled cotswolds Cottage set in a classic cotswolds hamlet.”

Jayne the host welcomes you with amazing scones... Jam and cream...... The best marmalade and a loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. It works for a couple and or with a family as the room in the loft is perfect for kids. There is also a local pub which is friendly and does good food and beer.

Jayne is a perfect host. She spoilt us with fresh bread, eggs and even scones. The cottage is lovely and the interior is very stylish. We couldn't have wished for any better! Naunton as a location is also very recommended, since it‘s a lot less touristy than other villages in the Cotswolds.

The weather was very cold but the cottage was lovely and warm, and cosying up by the wood burner was a real treat after each days' walking in the cold. Jayne couldn't have been more welcoming and her welcome gift of delicious homemade cakes & biscuits a very nice touch. We had a wonderful break and looking forward to returning. Thank you.

The property

Gleed Cottage is a beautiful, traditional Cotswold stone property, with a wealth of character features and an enclosed garden, located in the picturesque village of Naunton. The village is very popular, being set away from busy roads and benefitting from a good village pub, golf course and many walks straight from the doorstep. The well known market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are also both within six miles, with their wide range of pubs, shops and restaurants. Dating back approximately 200 years, Gleed Cottage has a wealth of character features, including oak beams, mullion windows, flagstone floors and a large inglenook fireplace, containing a wood burning stove. Complementing these character features, the cottage has modern facilities, including a TV and a well equipped kitchen. Gleed Cottage sleeps a maximum of four people, in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. There is quiet, on street parking available close to the cottage. It is an ideal retreat for couples, families, or small groups of friends. Gleed Cottage's front door opens into the living room. The open plan downstairs contains the following areas: Living room: Full of character, the living room contains oak beams, a flagstone floor and a large inglenook fireplace, with a wood burning stove. There is also a TV and comfortable seating for four adults; Dining area: Contains a table and four chairs; Kitchen: The kitchen area includes a dishwasher, electric cooker with four hobs, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. Stairs lead up to the first floor landing, off which are the following two rooms: Bedroom 1: Contains a double bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead electric shower, basin and toilet. A lovely ledge and brace door opens to a second stairway to the top floor bedroom: Bedroom 2: A beautiful eaves room, which an be set up as either two 75cm wide single beds or a king size bed. The cottage's enclosed garden is at the front of the house and includes a patio area with a table and four chairs, plus a charcoal barbecue.

Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire and lies beneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds and above the vale of the River Severn. It is known as 'The Western Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This edge-of-the Cotswolds spa town is hard to beat for refined elegance and Regency terraces, annual festivals, Ladies' College and racecourse. Also fortnightly farmers markets, classy shops and restaurants all surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. It's also known for Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town. There's fine art at The Wilson museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.
