    “Nice place.”

Shame there was no proper shower on the 2nd floor. Also the heating didn't seem to be working on the top floor so it was a bit cold. Was a bit annoying that there were no provisions in the kitchen e.g. salt, pepper, olive oil etc... Also I think there is a problem with the oven door - it doesn't seem to close properly. Aside from that we had a good time and blockley was a lovely village and thanks.

The property

North End House is a double fronted detached Cotswold stone property which sleeps eight guests, in four stylish bedrooms, with three beautifully presented bathrooms.

Late Georgian in design, the property has an abundance of stunning features including high ceilings, sash windows, exposed Cotswold stone and open fireplaces, one of which has a cosy electric flame effect stove.

Dating back to 1865, the property was once used as a regular meeting house for the villages silk mill workers who lived in the terraced cottages further up the road. Lovingly refurbished to a high standard, the owners have used different colour schemes throughout the house, varying from sleek and subtle whites and greys to the bold and striking shades of blue.

Each of the rooms boast designer furniture and carefully chosen antique pieces and these have been complemented by modern facilities including wireless internet access, two Smart TVs and a well-equipped kitchen.

At the front of the property there is a south facing enclosed garden and off-street parking is available for up to three cars. North End House is situated in the historic village of Blockley, a peaceful village with two country pubs, a community owned shop & café, a children’s playground, impressive Norman church and the tranquil Blockley Brook.

The brook once had 12 watermills lining its banks, bringing wealth to the area during the height of the wool industry and one of these mills is now Mill Dene Garden, a hidden gem which is open to the public and features a misty grotto, mill pond and gorgeous flowers in bloom.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, Blockley has many delightful walks and cycle routes on its doorstep including footpaths over to the much-loved Chipping Campden, Paxford and Ebrington, the latter being home to The Ebrington Arms, an award-winning country pub which was voted the UK's number one village pub by The Times in 2017. Blockley is well-placed for exploring the many lovely towns and villages of the North Cotswolds including Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Snowshill, home of the Cotswold Lavender Farm and Fields, a must-see attraction for visitors to the area between May and August.

The region offers a range of tourist attractions for all ages including the Cotswold Motoring and Toy Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water, the fascinating Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway which takes a 28 mile round trip through scenic countryside.

Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips.

North End House is the perfect retreat for a gathering of friends or family who are looking for a luxurious base from which to explore the Cotswolds.
