“We were really happy with Parsley Cottage for our holiday.”

It was comfortable inside and great to sit outside in the sun. The kitchen facilities were perfect. We would have liked more information about the recycling and when to put the bin out etc. Also the heating wasn't 'self-explanatory' as the instructions indicated, and we had to call out an engineer. The gas fire pilot light only ignited once and we weren't able to get it to come on again. Luckily most of the time we didn't need heating anyway and we would recommend this lovely cottage as a great ...

These period touches are complemented by contemporary décor and modern facilities such as wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a well-equipped kitchen.

There is an attractive garden to the front of the cottage and free on-street parking is readily available in the village. Parsley Cottage is situated on a quiet road close to the heart of the village of Blockley.

This picturesque village benefits from having two well-regarded pubs and a community owned shop & café, as well as a historic Norman church and children’s playground.

Tucked away in a valley, the village sits along the tranquil Blockley Brook, a popular spot for cooling off in the warm summer months for locals and visitors alike. Blockley is surrounded by rolling countryside which forms part of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are many pleasant cycle routes and walks on its doorstep, including footpaths to the much loved market town of Chipping Campden and others over to Moreton-in-Marsh, passing the outskirts of Batsford Arboretum.

Blockley is also ideally situated for exploring the popular North Cotswold towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Norton, all just a short drive away.

Further afield destinations such as Bath, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon are also accessible for day trips.

Parsley Cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple, small family or group of friends who are looking for a peaceful break surrounded by the glorious Cotswold countryside.

The stable door opens into the kitchen/dining room and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Kitchen/dining room: This tastefully decorated well-equipped kitchen is ideal for home cooking and contains an electric oven with four-ring gas hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, cafetière, toaster and dining table with seating for four; Living room: Glass panelled doors lead through into the spacious and cosy living room.

This room has an abundance of character with an exposed Cotswold stone feature wall, smart slate flooring and painted beams.

Overlooking the quiet lane, this room contains a Cotswold stone fireplace with gas stove, three-seater sofa, armchair, wooden chair, large footstool, Smart TV and a small selection of books. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 2: This elegant bedroom has stunning exposed wooden beams and contains two single beds, a chest of drawers, built-in cupboard, small table and stool, two wall mirrors and a wicker chair; Family bathroom: This bright and airy room contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. It contains a king size bed, chest of drawers, clothes rail and dressing table with stool and mirror. The stable door from the kitchen leads out into the lovely garden which comprises two patio areas and a well-maintained lawn.

The patio at the rear of the garden enjoys the sun throughout the day and is a great spot to relax after busy days spent exploring.

Beyond this patio there is a secure outhouse which contains a washing machine and tumble dryer, and also has space for up to four bicycles.

There is a right of access along the rear of the terraces for neighbours and the postman. Free on-street parking is readily available close to the property.

About the location

BLOCKLEY

Moreton-in-Marsh 3 miles; Bourton-on-the-Water 11 miles; Cheltenham 22 miles.

An ancient village once famous for its silk and corn mills, Blockley lies just 3 miles from Moreton-in-Marsh and features a unique collection of honey-coloured buildings with a pretty village green, two excellent pubs, serving hearty food and real ale, as well as a village store and café, serving dinner on a Friday night. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of the village, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way and the Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close by. Very close by, Moreton-in-Marsh boasts many elegant 18th century buildings and is home to traditional inns, tea rooms, restaurants and individual shops to suit all tastes. It also offers its own train station and lies on the intersection of the Paddington rail line from London. The town hosts the Moreton-In-Marsh Show, one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, as well as the Moreton Beer Festival, an annual French Market, and a large outdoor market every Tuesday. The highest town in the Cotswolds, this ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. Close by is Bourton-on-the-Water, which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is known as the Venice of the Cotswolds as the River Windrush runs through the centre. Also within reach is the spa town of Cheltenham, boasting an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, as well as being famous for its horseracing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within driving distance, making Blockley a great base for a Cotswolds holiday.

Note: There is a right of access along the rear of the terraces for neighbours and the postman.

Note: This is an old property laid out over three floors which could therefore pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to exit the house quickly in the event of an emergency.

Note: The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.

Note: There is a £100.00 good housekeeping bond in place for this property.
