    “Just returned from a wonderful week at Honeystone Cottage.”

    From the moment we arrived we felt at home. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather and spent most of our time outdoors in the very big south facing garden. The house is extremely comfortable with very tasteful interiors and furnishings. Withington and the surrounding area is just perfect with wonderful villages and great pubs/restaurants within easy reach. We are definitely planning a return stay.

These features are complemented by modern facilities including wireless internet access, three Freesat TVs, a well-equipped kitchen and underflooring heating throughout. The property has both a front and back garden and off-street parking is available for three cars. Honeystone Cottage is situated in the peaceful and unspoilt village of Withington. This quaint village has an impressive 12th century parish church and a pet-friendly country pub, The Mill Inn, which sits on the banks of the River Coln and makes for a picturesque setting for a pub lunch. The annual 2000 Trees music festival is held just north of the village and neighbouring Chedworth boasts one of the largest Roman villas in the UK, now owned by the National Trust and a popular attraction for all ages. The village is well-placed for exploring the many vibrant towns of the Cotswolds including the regency spa town of Cheltenham, home to the beautiful Pittville Park and Cheltenham Racecourse, and Cirencester, Capital of the Cotswolds and well-known for its range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The honeypots of Bourton-on-the-Water, Winchcombe and Broadway are all nearby and further afield destinations such as Bath, Hereford and Oxford are accessible for day trips and showcase extraordinary architecture. Honeystone Cottage is the perfect retreat for a gathering of friends or family who are seeking a relaxing getaway surrounded by the glorious Cotswold countryside. The bright ensuite contains a bath, walk-in rain shower with separate handheld shower attachment, toilet, wash basin, heated towel rail and touch illuminated mirror. A well-maintained garden wraps itself around the cottage and comprises luscious green lawns, mature leafy trees and a colourful flower bed with fragrant lavender. A sun trap in the warmer months, the front garden houses a patio area with a small table and garden bench, allowing guests to soak up the summer sunshine. The main garden lies at the back of the cottage where a second patio area with an outdoor table with seating for six, along with a charcoal barbecue, are provided. This varied garden retains original character features including the hayloft staircase on the patio and a lamp post which has been reclaimed by nature, now home to a beautiful climbing clematis. About the location

CHELTENHAM

Tewkesbury 5.9 miles; Cirencester 14.7 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 30 miles;

Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire and lies beneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds and above the vale of the River Severn. It is known as 'The Western Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This edge-of-the Cotswolds spa town is hard to beat for refined elegance and Regency terraces, annual festivals, Ladies' College and racecourse. Also fortnightly farmers markets, classy shops and restaurants all surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. It's also known for Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town. There's fine art at The Wilson museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.

Note: Regrettably, Honeystone Cottage does not accept children under the age of eight years. Note: For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure. Note: The garden is not enclosed, and there is an unfenced pond and a stream to the rear so dogs and children over eight will need to be supervised outside at all times. Note: The owner requires that you use instant lighting fire logs rather than seasoned logs for the woodburning stove. Note: The property is accessed via three wide steps which lead down towards the front door, which can become slippery when wet and so guests should be careful when approaching the property. Note: There is an original hayloft staircase outside the back door however please note that there is no handrail or safety barrier and so climbing the stairs is not recommended due to the drop between levels. Note: The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Note: Honeystone Cottage does not accept hen, stag or similar parties; if you would like to enquire as a same sex group, please contact us. Note: Honeystone Cottage does not accept commercial, corporate or work-related bookings.
