“The house was very spacious, lovely and modern.”

Lots of nice touches like a welcome pack of tea, milk, bread etc. Communication from the owners was excellent, with lots of house information prior to our arrival, so we knew what to expect. We enjoyed the outdoor space when the sun shone and lovely bifold doors made the house light and airy. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived and absolutely spotless. We loved the open plan kitchen/lounge as the people cooking didn't feel cut off from those of us having a G & T! Thanks for a lovely ...

About the location

STROUD

Gloucester 9.5 miles; Cirencester 13 miles.

The town of Stroud is known as the less commercial corner of the Cotswolds, a somewhat bohemian collection of buildings, squares and lanes, tucked into the green hills which once housed countless sheep during the town’s time as the centre of the Cotswold’s woollen industry. Today, Stroud welcomes visitors to its friendly cafes, quaint bookshops, independent shops and tempting eateries. Described by Jasper Conran as the ‘Covent Garden of the Cotswolds’, Stroud has a regular farmers' market, year-round programmes of music and theatre, a thriving arts scene and a state-of-the-art cinema. For simply relaxing, Stratford Park on the edge of town offers lakeside walks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a museum. Head out of town to explore the five sweeping valleys which surround it, with country lanes just made for walking or cycling.

Note: Beyond the railing fence at the end of the garden there is an 8ft drop and the garden is also not fully enclosed (though there is a fence), so guests with pets and young children should take particular care when outside. Note: There is a handrail on the stone steps leading down to the property, but guests with limited mobility may prefer to enter the property via the side gate where there is only one step. Note: This property does not accept commercial or corporate bookings.
