The property

Orchard Cottage is a delightful cottage next to the apple and damson orchards of a working hop and livestock farm near Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.

It is surrounded by the beautiful unspoilt countryside.

The property is furnished throughout with countryside scenes adorning every wall, it is ideally suited for family and friends to spend time together in this wonderful Teme Valley.

Retaining some original features with its wooden floors, ceiling beams, as well as a woodburning stove, all of which enhances the welcoming feel of this cottage.

Step into the open-plan kitchen and dining area with seating for up to six people.

The kitchen has oak cabinets with extensive modern fixtures and fittings.

The living room has a light decor, comfortable sofas, lovely hardwood flooring and a woodburning stove, giving this property a homely feel.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: one double, one twin and one single, with plenty of storage space and bedside tables with lamps for some late night reading.

It is perfect for families looking to stay in the rural countryside area.

There is also a separate family bathroom with a bath and shower over and WC.

There is a basement level games room with a pool table, dart board and TV which is accessed from outside, there are large gardens to the front and rear of the property, where views of Shropshire and Clee Hill can be enjoyed.

The rear lawned area slopes up to a lovely summer house, perfect for alfresco dining, or relaxing after a long day exploring the delights of the area.

There is outside furniture and a barbecue in the courtyard area behind the house.

Bikes can also be stored securely in the shed.

The popular riverside market town of Tenbury Wells is just three miles away and has its own art deco theatre/cinema, swimming pool, individual shops, traditional pubs and restaurants, all accessed via a charming bridge across the River Teme.

Other nearby attractions include National Trust property Berrington Hall.

During the 20th century was the seat of the Cawley family.

It is a neoclassical country house building which was designed by Henry Holland in 1778-81 for Thomas Harley.

You can venture towards Croft Castle, which houses a fine walled garden and vineyard and is also a National Trust property.

It also has a woodland for walkers and the ornate church, making this a wonderful Tenbury Wells cottage to be enjoyed all year round.

Ludlow 10 miles; Worcester 17 miles; Hereford 22 miles.

Tenbury Wells is a charming, ancient market town situated on the banks of the River Teme in Worcestershire. Dating back to the Iron Age and said to have been called 'my little town in the orchard' by Queen Victoria, Tenbury Wells boasts a unique 18th century bridge built by Thomas Telford, the magnificent Pump Rooms, which housed baths where local mineral water was available, and many other listed buildings dating back to the 17th century. This bustling town has many individual shops, traditional pubs, cafes and tea rooms and plays host to many festivals throughout the year notably the Applefest in October and Holly and Mistletoe around Christmas. It is home to weekly craft and farmers’ markets and a fully restored Art Deco cinema with a full programme of events. Ludlow, with its famous castle, is one of the most beautiful towns in Britain offers a medieval street pattern, which remains almost intact and provides an amazing backdrop for the town's regular markets. Renowned for its shopping, Ludlow also has high quality restaurants, excellent tea shops and pubs. Also within easy reach is Church Stretton, known as Little Switzerland, the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge, Leominster, Hereford and Shrewsbury, as well as the Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall and Hay-on-Wye, famous for its annual Literary Festival in May/June. A bit further afield are Offa's Dyke, the Malvern hills and the Brecon Beacon's. This is an ideal base for exploring the area.
