About the location

MIDDLE TYSOE

Hook Norton 7.3 miles; Banbury 10.2 miles; Stratford-upon-Avon 12.5 miles.

Middle Tysoe is part of the civil parish of Tysoe, in the Stratford-on-Avon District of Warwickshire. The parish is on the boundary with Oxfordshire, about 7.5 (12 km) northwest of Banbury. The parish includes the villages of Middle and Upper Tysoe and the separate hamlet of Lower Tysoe. The earliest known surviving record of the place-name is as Tiheshoche in the Domesday Book of 1086. It was Tiesoch in the reign of Henry I (1100–35), Thiesho in a charter from 1131–40 and Tisho in a royal roll from 1201. The name is derived from the Old English Tīges hōh, meaning "spur of land belonging to the god Tiw". Today in the villages you will find
a village Post Office, a shop, a pub and a take-away Chinese restaurant. There is also a beautiful parish church of St Mary which dates back the 11th century and a number of properties which date back to the 17th century. The parish lies on the edge of the Cotswolds, where you will find breath-taking landscapes and a number of lively market towns and historic trails. A little further away is the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, where you will find further quality amenities and attractions including Shakespeare's Birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage and the tropical greenhouse of butterflies. Middle Tysoe is a pretty base for exploring this part of Warwickshire / Oxfordshire.

Note: For the comfort of future guests, we ask that dogs remain downstairs, stay off the furniture and that no trace of a dog remains after your departure.

Note: There is restricted head height in the second-floor family bathroom which may be inconvenient for tall guests.

Note: The Velux windows in the second-floor bedrooms have opening restrictors fitted and keys are available to open them in the event of an emergency.

Note: The property has multiple floors and there is a step in the garden area, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility.

Note: Due to the quiet village location, Honeysuckle Cottage is not suitable for hen, stag or similar party groups and are therefore not allowed at this property.

Note: This property does not allow working groups.
