“We really enjoyed our stay at the Machine Rooms.”

The house was beautifully styled; the beds were super comfy with lovely crisp linen. The layout of the house was perfect for a family of four and we love the village of Churchill. It was a great find and it was great visiting the Cotswolds in the Christmas period.

The property

The Machine Rooms was once part of a barn and steam mill but is now a stylish property situated in the heart of the pretty, peaceful village of Churchill and surrounded by the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Churchill is fortunate to have a lovely church and village green, as well as a well-regarded pub, and is only three miles away from Chipping Norton and seven miles away from Stow-on-the-Wold, which are two of the well-known Cotswold market towns. The Machine Rooms is well placed for exploring the surrounding countryside or visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as other tourist destinations, such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon. Finished in a warm, contemporary style with a cosy wood burning stove in the living room and an array of stylish pieces throughout the property, The Machine Rooms has been thoughtfully designed, with the open plan feel of the downstairs living space creating a sociable environment. Set over three floors, The Machine Rooms sleeps four guests, in two beautifully presented bedrooms, with two bathrooms. There is a private patio garden and two allocated parking spaces. The property is the perfect retreat for a small group of friends or a family looking for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Accessed via the garden, the front door opens into the open plan living/dining room and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: This bright and sociable space has a sofa and two armchairs positioned around the wood burning stove and the Smart TV which has a basic Sky package and Netflix access for account holders. There is a dining table with two bench seats that accommodate four guests; Kitchen: This stylish kitchen has an American-style fridge/freezer, an electric oven and four-ring induction hob, a dishwasher, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and toaster. Stairs lead up from the living area to the first floor landing, off which is the master bedroom: Master bedroom: This spacious bedroom has an exposed wooden beam and the flue from the wood burner in the living/dining room. There is a super king size bed, a freestanding wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a Smart TV with Netflix access to account holders only. The ensuite contains a bath with handheld shower attachment, walk-in shower, toilet and twin wash basins. The flight of stairs continues to the second floor landing in the eaves which contains a cupboard with a washing machine/tumble dryer. Bedroom 2 is on the second floor: Bedroom 2: This lovely room also has exposed wooden beams and the flue from the wood burner, and there is a Velux window with a blackout blind. The room contains either a super king size bed or two single beds, a chest of drawers and a freestanding wardrobe and an ensuite with a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. There is a pretty patio garden at the front of the property with Rattan furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Potted flowers and pleached trees border the garden, the latter creating a screen from the neighbouring property which has a right of access around the edge of the garden. There is an open carport with parking for two cars and within the garage there is space to store three bikes.
