4. The Bay Tree Restaurant, 12-14, Sheep Street, Burford

Located on the banks of the River Windrush, at the Bay Tree you can choose to eat from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Both offer outstanding food that is seasonal and as sophisticated on the eye as it is on the palate.

The dinning spaces have a contemporary country chic feel to them and are impeccably kept. Eating here, whether it is at breakfast, lunch or dinner is a treat to be savoured.

5. Restaurant at the Bull at Burford Hotel, 105 High Street, Burford

A great option for a gastro pub experience, the Bull has earned itself two AA rosettes, the food is seasonal, well-presented and delicious.

8. Huffkins Restaurant, 98 High Street, Burford

For breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, Huffkins is a delight and specialises in Cotswold Rarebits as well as cakes and other treats from the bakery. They also offer a wide range of loose leaf teas and artisan coffees.

There is seating inside the beautiful listed building and outside in the atmospheric medieval courtyard.

9. The Maytime Inn, Asthall, Burford

The Maytime Inn is a picturesque country pub. Inside you’ll find open fires and a well-stocked bar that boasts a speciality gin menu. When it comes to the food you’ll find a great selection of imaginative dishes and some old favourites – all freshly prepared on the day.

To the rear there’s a large garden that looks out onto rolling countryside. Lavender spills from the borders and there’s a terrace as well as a lawn. An idyllic venue for all, including the family dog.

10. The Feathered Nest Country Inn, Nether Westcote

Whilst the Feathered Nest Country Inn lies around 5 miles to the north of Burford, it offers some fantastic fine dining and so is well worth mentioning. Set in a wonderful rural environment the surrounding countryside provides the perfect backdrop for the perfect meal.

With breathtaking views of the Evenlode Valley, the building used to be home to the local Malthouse, but has now been beautifully refurbished and offers a first class culinary experience.
