Christmas Markets

A number of towns throughout the Cotswolds region host Christmas markets, where you can find some unique handmade gifts or tasty treats for your holiday party. The Cheltenham Christmas Market runs nearly the entire month of December, and contains the works of a number of local crafters. A market containing primarily locally grown foods is held near the middle of December in Kingham, and takes place on the ground of the Mill House Hotel.

Christmas Corner

A unique shop that specialises in Christmas ornaments and decorations is Christmas Corner, which is located in Bourton-on-the-Water. This shop contains a number of Christmas figurines and novelty items from around the world. If you're spending Christmas in the Cotswolds, stop by this shop to find some unique decorations that will help you maintain a festive spirit, even if you are away from home a bit.

Promenade in Cheltenham

The Promenade in Cheltenham is perhaps one of the most popular shopping spots in the Cotswolds, and it's even more popular around Christmas time. Several of the shops here date back to the 19th Century, and have maintained their historic charm to this very day. Shoppers will find everything from clothing and accessories to books here, and will find all of the shops within easy walking or bicycling distance from one another.

Santa's Grotto in Slimbridge

This is an event that anyone who is spending Christmas in the Cotswolds with children will not want to miss. Held every Saturday and Sunday during the month of Dec ember, children can visit with Father Christmas, and receive a small gift after telling him what they would like him to bring them. Santa's Grotto is set up at the Wetlands for Life Centre in Slimbridge, and takes place from 1pm to 4 pm. Tickets are required in order to take part in this event.

Cotswold shopping along with a host of other events makes visiting this region a perfect choice during the Christmas holiday. People of all ages are bound to find something they enjoy doing, and will no doubt create lasting memories that they will remember warmly for years to come.
