WHATS ON IN THE COTSWOLDS THIS SEPTEMBER

September is when the kids go back to school, but it is also the start of autumn celebrations. Yes, September in the Cotswolds is a time for grown-up festivals and late-night line-ups. Market towns and village greens come to life under large marquees and beer tents in the Cotswolds at this time of year. It is the season of indoor theatre and musical entertainment, autumn festivals and agricultural shows. Art shows celebrate the bright colours of the season to come in October and autumn food festivals are the best way to enjoy a taste of seasonal Cotswold produce. Take a look at our highlights for things to do in the Cotswolds this September.

Broadway Food Festival, Broadway
15th September

Pottering around a food festival is the best way to enjoy a Sunday. And the Broadway Food Festival is a particularly special one as it is a real showcase of local culinary delights. Everything is either grown within 30 miles of Broadway or available within Broadway. You don’t get much more local than this.

Held outdoors on the beautiful village green of Broadway in the North Cotswolds, this food festival is the best way to celebrate the changing seasons. For 2019 there is going to be a busy turnout of 35 stalls showcasing tempting regional produce. Some will be ‘food to go’ and others, such as local distillers and beekeepers, make for excellent gifts. Alongside local Longhorn burgers, there will be some global flavours to try too, including pan Asian veggie street food, Caribbean curry and mini Dutch pancakes. Be sure to leave the car behind so you can enjoy a real ale or cocktail.
