Weekend Breaks

Leave your worries behind for a few days and head into the country...

What could be better than jumping in the car on Friday afternoon and escaping to a countryside retreat for a relaxing weekend away with friends, family or a partner? Enjoy a lazy brunch around the dining table or out on the patio Saturday morning, followed by an invigorating country walk in the afternoon and stroll to the local pub for a delicious Sunday lunch.

Perfect for evenings in with friends

With breaks in the UK becoming increasingly popular, and so many transport conncetions available, it's never been so easy to explore the UK and not break the bank. Located conveniently close to London, the Cotswold region is ideal for weekends away or a walking break for anyone staying in or visiting the capital. From the north, train links are easy from Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle, while the M4, M5 and M40 all provide straight forward routes for those who wish to drive or hire a car.

Set within the stunning scenery of green rolling hills and sweeping meadows, the Cotswolds hold exceptional events, festivals and activities every year including the Cheltenham Festival, the Cheese Rolling Festival and the Badminton Horse Trials. So, when looking for a break in England be sure to check out the glorious, honey-coloured towns and villages of the Cotswolds.

Our weekend breaks are great for families that want to take a short trip with the children, but don't want to wait until the school holidays and face paying the premium prices! As weekend breaks run from the Friday afternoon, you don't have to take the children out of school, you can pick up them up and head straight to your holiday cottage to enjoy your luxury country escape.  With no need to waste any time travelling on the Saturday, you would get two full days to spend at your leisure.

With three or even four days off in a row, why not take a UK short break to the Cotswolds and enjoy the extra freedom that a Bank Holiday offers by visiting famous landmarks and national heritage sites, or perhaps just relaxing by a log fire, indulging in the local food and drink. For some people leaving their beloved dog behind in kennels when they go on a short break is like leaving a member of the family behind, so if you are considering a family break in the Cotswolds with your dog you should try one of our many dog friendly properties.

Having a base which meets the whole groups' needs makes your country break convenient and hassle free. Well equipped kitchens for preparing home cooked meals, relaxing sitting rooms for escaping into a book or playing games with your family or friends, and outside space to enjoy the fresh air, are all part of the package when you book a family holiday cottage for your weekend break. As well as the great facilities mentioned, many of our cottages also have a wealth of character and period features, such as original oak beams, flagstone floors and inglenook fireplaces. Spending a couple of days in such quirky and pretty surroundings will certainly make your short break extra special.
